Thousands march to save RAF Lossiemouth

Over 7,000 people took part in a march and rally in Lossiemouth on Sunday November 7 2010 to make the case for retaining the local RAF base.

Speaking after today's [Sunday 7 November] public rally in support of RAF Lossiemouth, Calum MacPherson, Highlands and Islands Enterprise Area Manager for Moray, said: "Seven thousand people have come together in Lossiemouth to send the strongest possible message to the Ministry of Defence. "The RAF is part of the social fabric of our community and the Moray Task Force will continue to provide the indisputable defence, economic and social arguments to keep the RAF in Moray."
