Tourism in Moray

23 November 2010

Moray was in the news again this week as its stunning coastline was ranked amongst the best in the world by National Geographic Traveller magazine.

The stretch of coast from Inverness to Peterhead sits right alongside the Polynesian Cook Islands in the international list. It is praised as being in 'excellent shape, relatively unspoilt and likely to remain so".

Tourism is a sector in the spotlight for Moray as presenting an opportunity for growth. Both the Chief Executive and the Chairman of VisitScotland have been in the area in the past few weeks meeting with the task force and local providers to see how the agency can assist.

In the short term immediate support will include putting Moray in the spotlight on VisitScotland's seasonal website and showcasing Moray through local marketing activity across Inverness, Aberdeen and Dundee.
